The Gangwon Social and Solidarity Economy Network contributes to revitalizing the regional economic ecosystem by fostering social economy, solving local issues, and linking social finance. It pursues these goals through solidarity and cooperation among social economy enterprises in the region, aiming to resolve local issues and realize sustainablility and wellbeing of citizens. Since 2022, social economy enterprises in Gangwon Province have jointly established and operated the ‘Gangwon Social Economy Mutual Aid Fund’.
Korea Social Value Solidarity Foundation provides interest-free loans of up to 100 million won over four years (November 2025 to November 2029) to activate the regional social economy and foster a social finance ecosystem. The Gangwon Social Economy Solidarity Association matches this with 20 million won of its own funds, creating a total fund of 120 million won. This fund is then used to provide loans to social economy organizations in the Gangwon region.
