In order to promote impact investing and social housing, SVS is carrying out a thematic buy-to-rent housing refinancing project. The themed buy-to-let housing project is a project in which a private implementer is in charge of constructing and operating social housing and the government purchases it to provide a stable living environment for vulnerable people, such as single young adults, newlyweds, children who have been terminated from protection, and people with developmental disabilities.
SVS has received a loan from the 4.16 Foundation to provide funds to social economy enterprises through the Korea Social Housing Association, and is helping to build social housing that helps people with severe disabilities live independently.
A total of 28 households, including 8 households with children, 12 households with severe disabilities, and 8 households with social activists and middle-aged people, will be housed in three buildings with the goal of completion by the end of 2024, and community facilities such as healing centers, counseling rooms, and shared kitchens will also be provided to help improve the quality of life of residents.
