The Jeju Early Startup Development Fund was established in July ’24 with 3.3 billion won ($3.3 million), with the participation of the SVS, Korea Venture Investment, Kakao, Jeju Province, and Jeju University Technology Holdings, and in August ’24, an additional investment from Jeju University Technology Holdings made the fund total 3.5 billion won.

The fund contributes to the sustainability of early-stage startups in Jeju, which have relatively limited access to finance, by providing more than 60% of the total committed amount to non-metropolitan, local (Jeju) companies, and promotes the revitalization of the local social economy ecosystem by mandatorily investing 30% of the total committed amount in social economy enterprises in the region.
